At Wild Britain (formerly Bedford Butterfly Park), discover one wild day out!
Start you visit in the butterfly jungle. With conditions just like the tropics, it's hot, hot, hot and is home to butterflies, leaf-cutter ants and even a tortoise! Plus for young explorers, there's a special safari spotter badge to earn!
Younger visitors will also adore the Hedgehog Play Trail. With fun puzzles and activities, help them build a shelter, find wildlife against the clock and take cover in the woodmans hut!
In fact, at Wild Britain, you can meet real Hedgehogs too. New for 2009, is the special 'night is day' exhibit, ensuring you can see these cute nocturnal animals awake. With a breeding pair, we are also hopeful for the patter of tiny, tiny hedgehog feet!
Elsewhere onsite, you can make an arty creation to take home, cuddle new friends in pets corner and come face to face with the less fluffier residents in daily Animal Encounter Sessions. With different animals at every show, discover the softness of a tarantula, hold a Giant African Land Snail and feel a cockroach scuttle across your palm.
Special activities take place all year. New for 2009 is pond dipping from late May and during the summer, colourful puppet shows. For further information or special events, please visit www.wild-britain.co.uk.
No visit would be complete, however, without stopping at the onsite café (with yummy home made treats) and gift shop.
