Night-time in Glasgow

Busy bar in city of Glasgow

McEwans Sessions

For a great night out why not join a "knees up" in one of Glasgow's traditional pubs? Regular live music sessions are taking place in many of the city's venues this year and beyond.

Few pleasures in life rival the effects of a welcoming pub, a pint of good beer and some nimble-fingered musicians playing their hearts out in the corner!

Enjoy some of Scotland's best traditional music in a relaxed and informal setting and soak up the atmosphere as you join in with the locals and have some fun!

One of Glasgow's newest venues is Oran Mor (gaelic for large melody) on Byres Road, an 1850s Presbyterian Church now transformed into a community designed bar, restaurant and concert venue, complete with a zodiac ceiling mural by Alasdair Gray.

Glasgow’s well-established annual music festival, Celtic Connections, takes place each January in venues throughout the city – many at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.
